Sydney Pollock-Tobert, LCSW, PMH-C
About Me & My Approach
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) located in New York City. I work with children, adolescents, adults, and families. I have specialized training in working with young children (birth to five) and I am also a certified perinatal mental heath specialist through Postpartum Support International. I received my Bachelors of the Arts in Psychology from Colgate University and my Masters of Social Work from Columbia University.
As your therapist, I seek to create a warm, comfortable space for you and/or your family to discuss things openly and explore how to improve the situation. I also strive to make my work culturally competent and trauma-informed to ensure that everyone feels at ease. I work with people of all ages so therapy looks different and unique for everyone!

My approach uses a psychodynamic and relational perspectives. Together we'll focus on how your experiences have shaped your perspectives and beliefs. We'll also consider your family as a whole, all of your relationships in your life, and the strengths and stressors that may impact you.

In our work, I use an eclectic approach of techniques. This includes talk therapy, play therapy, behavioral interventions, trauma-informed interventions, and cognitive-behavioral interventions. During therapy, we can combine these techniques and others to best address your needs.
